LENTEN RECOLLECTION
Our Lenten recollection was held on the 29th of March 2025 which is a Saturday. It was directed by Revd. Fr. Thaddeus Onyekineso, the rector of Sacred Heart Minor Seminary Jalingo. It started with the celebration of the Holy Mass together with the Morning Prayer at 8:00am, after which we had breakfast. The reflection of that day was given during the homily where he encouraged us to look at the beauty of Christ in relation to our call and being disfigured as we are, we should come before Him (Christ) so that he will make us into what He wants us to be. We had adoration by 10:00am to 12:00pm, followed by midday prayer at 12:30pm and then lunch by 1:00pm. Had Rosary by 5:00pm followed by vespers after which we had supper and retired to bed.
EASTER CELEBRATION
The Easter celebration was beautiful. It started with the Holy week program of which we all participated actively in all the events that preceded the Easter celebration. We had lunch together and appreciated God for keeping us to see yet another Easter celebration.
THE BURIAL OF LATE PA PIUS ORBUNDE YONGO ANGYO (SR MARGARET ORBUNDE’S FATHER) Late Mr Pius Orbunde was called back to his creator on the 24th of February 2025 and was buried on the 7th of March 2025 in his resident Tse-Angyo Yongo, Mbatiav in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State after been sick for some years. His burial was attended by the Bishop , the priests and religious of Gboko diocese. Others in attendance includes the Infact Jesus Sisters from Jalingo diocese, the Health Coordinator of Jalingo diocese together with some staff members from Our Lady Queen of Peace Hospital, Jalingo. priests from Abuja and Makurdi diocese, religious from other congregations and well wishers from all around.It was a successful funeral celebration and we pray God to cintinue to grant him eternal rest and console all the members of the family.
BEHOLD OUR CANDITATES
Our candidates arrived on the 25th day of April 2025 which is a Friday to begin their initial formation. They are eight (8) in number. We pray God to keep them and help them in their discernment making about their vocation.
FIRST PROFESSION OF PAULINA DANIEL
The first profession took place on the 16th of May 2025 in the Chapel and was well attended by priests, Infant Jesus Sisters, family members and friends of the Augustinian Sisters. The Mass was presided over by the Vicar General Pastoral, Very Revd. Fr. Justin Bonzena and concelebrated by the Dean of Our Lady Queen of Peace Deanery Very Rend. Fr. Greg Nbashi and Sr. Paulina’s Parish Priest Revd. Fr. Abraham CssP. There was little refreshment for all after the Mass in the Monastery. We pray that God will grant Sr. Paulina the grace to be faithful to her vows and also the grace of final perseverance.
THANKSGIVING MASS OF JSS 3 STUDENTS OF OUR LADY OF CONSOLATION GIRLS’ SECONDARY SCHOOL (OLC)
The thanksgiving Mass of our JSS3 students took place on the 1st day of June 2025 T 9:00am. The Mass was presided over by Revd. Fr. Isaac Nyameh, a resident priest at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral and was assisted by Revd. Friday Igirah, a deacon serving in the Cathedral. The highlight of the Mass includes the readings, responsorial psalm, gospel presentation and the prayer of the faithful which was all done by the students. The students appeared in different attires of the different cultural groups in Taraba State which made it so colorful. Parents of the students and staff were also present at the Mass. Snapshots were also taken after the Mass.
PARENTS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION (PTA) MEETING OF OUR LADY OF CONSOLATION GIRLS’SECONDARY SCHOOL (OLC)
The PTA meeting of OLC was held on the 7th of June 2025 which is a Saturday in the school hall. The Prioress, principal, teachers, parents and Sisters working in the school were in attendance. Issues concerning the management and growth of the school were discussed at the meeting and the new officials that will pilot the affairs of the school for the period of two years were also elected. PENTECOST SUNDAY
We had a beautiful Mass celebration at the Cathedral which was presided over by the assistant Cathedral Administrator Revd. Fr. Odinaka Patrick Chukwu and was assisted by Revd. Friday Igirah. The Mass started at 7:00am. The congregation all dressed in their cultural attire and there was presentation of gifts from the different cultural groups which includes items from their different places.
YOUNG FARMERS CLUB
As the raining season has come, we are not also left out as our candidates full of enthusiasm join in cultivating and planting some seedlings. As we can see it’s already growing well. The followings seeds were planted: sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, beans and groundnuts. We pray to the Lord of the harvest to bless the works of our hands and grant us bountiful harvest.
SOLEMNITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI (FEAST OF OUR ORDER)
The Solemnity celebration was a success and we had lunch together.
THIRTIETH RELIGIOUS ANNIVERSARY OF SR MARGARET ORBUNDE
The thirtieth anniversary of Sr. Margaret Orbunde was marked on the 23rd of June 2025. We pray God to grant her the grace of final perseverance and the wisdom to carry out successfully the apostolate that has been entrusted to her, make her faithful to her vows, and grant her good heart desires and above all good health of mind and body.
CONGRATULATIONS DEAR SR. MARGARET. WE WISH YOU JOY AND FULFILMENT IN THE LORD’S VINEYARD.

RÉCOLTE DE CARÊME
Notre récollection de Carême a eu lieu le 29 mars 2025, un samedi. Elle était dirigée par le Révérend Père Thaddeus Onyekineso, le recteur du Petit Séminaire du Sacré-Cœur de Jalingo. Elle a commencé par la célébration de la Sainte Messe et de la prière du matin à 8h00, après quoi nous avons pris le petit déjeuner. La réflexion de ce jour a été donnée pendant l'homélie où il nous a encouragées à regarder la beauté du Christ par rapport à notre appel et étant défigurées comme nous le sommes, nous devrions nous présenter devant Lui (le Christ) afin qu'il nous transforme en ce qu'il veut que nous soyons. Nous avons eu l'adoration de 10h00 à 12h00, suivie de la prière de midi à 12h30 et du déjeuner à 13h00. Nous avons eu le rosaire à 17h00, suivi des vêpres, puis nous avons dîné et nous nous sommes couchés.
CÉLÉBRATION DE PÂQUES
La célébration de Pâques a été magnifique. Elle a commencé par le programme de la semaine sainte auquel nous avons toutes participé activement à tous les événements qui ont précédé la célébration de Pâques. Nous avons déjeuné ensemble et remercié Dieu de nous avoir permis d'assister à une nouvelle célébration de Pâques.
L'enterrement de feu PA PIUS ORBUNDE YONGO ANGYO (le père de SR MARGARET ORBUNDE)
Feu M. Pius Orbunde a été rappelé à son créateur le 24 février 2025 et a été enterré le 7 mars 2025 dans sa résidence Tse-Angyo Yongo, Mbatiav dans la zone du gouvernement local de Gboko de l'État de Benue après avoir été malade pendant quelques années. L'évêque, les prêtres et les religieux du diocèse de Gboko ont assisté à son enterrement. Parmi les autres personnes présentes figuraient les sœurs de l'Enfant Jésus du diocèse de Jalingo, le coordinateur de la santé du diocèse de Jalingo ainsi que des membres du personnel de l'hôpital Notre-Dame Reine de la Paix de Jalingo, des prêtres des diocèses d'Abuja et de Makurdi, des religieux d'autres congrégations et des sympathisants venus de toute la région.
TENIR COMPTE DE NOS CANDITATS
Nos candidats sont arrivés le 25 avril 2025, c'est-à-dire un vendredi, pour commencer leur formation initiale. Ils sont au nombre de huit (8). Nous prions Dieu de les garder et de les aider dans le discernement de leur vocation.
PREMIÈRE PROFESSION DE PAULINA DANIEL
La première profession a eu lieu le 16 mai 2025 dans la chapelle, en présence de prêtres, de sœurs de l'Enfant Jésus, de membres de la famille et d'amis des sœurs augustines. La messe a été présidée par le Vicaire Général Pastoral, le Très Révérend Père Justin Bonzena et concélébrée par le Doyen du Doyenné de Notre Dame Reine de la Paix, le Très Révérend Père Greg Nbashi et Sr. Greg Nbashi et le curé de la paroisse de Sœur Paulina, le Révérend Père Abraham CssP. Il y a eu un petit rafraîchissement pour tous après la messe au monastère. Nous prions pour que Dieu accorde à S. Paulina la grâce d'être fidèle à ses vœux et la grâce de la persévérance finale.
MESSE DE REMERCIEMENT DES ÉLÈVES DE JSS 3 DE L'ÉCOLE SECONDAIRE DE NOTRE-DAME DE LA CONSOLATION (OLC)
La messe de remerciement de nos élèves de JSS 3 a eu lieu le 1er jour du mois de juin 2025 à 9h00. La messe a été présidée par le Révérend Père Isaac Nyameh, prêtre résident de la cathédrale Notre-Dame Reine de la Paix, assisté par le Révérend Père Friday Igirah, diacre de la cathédrale. Le point fort de la messe comprend les lectures, le psaume responsorial, la présentation de l'évangile et la prière des fidèles, qui ont tous été faits par les étudiants. Les élèves étaient vêtus de différentes tenues représentant les différents groupes culturels de l'État de Taraba, ce qui a rendu la messe très colorée. Les parents des élèves et le personnel étaient également présents à la messe. Des photos ont également été prises après la messe.
RÉUNION DE L'ASSOCIATION DES PARENTS ET DES ENSEIGNANTS (APE) DE L'ÉCOLE SECONDAIRE NOTRE-DAME DE LA CONSOLATION (OLC)
La réunion de l'APE de l'OLC s'est tenue le 7 juin 2025, un samedi, dans le hall de l'école. La prieure, le directeur, les enseignants, les parents et les sœurs travaillant à l'école étaient présents. Les questions concernant la gestion et la croissance de l'école ont été discutées lors de la réunion et les nouveaux responsables qui dirigeront les affaires de l'école pour une période de deux ans ont également été élus. DIMANCHE DE LA PENTECOTE
Nous avons eu une belle célébration de la messe à la cathédrale, présidée par l'administrateur adjoint de la cathédrale, le Révérend Père Odinaka Patrick Chukwu, assisté du Révérend Père Friday Igirah. La messe a commencé à 7h00. Les fidèles ont tous revêtu leur costume culturel et les différents groupes culturels ont présenté des cadeaux comprenant des objets provenant de leurs différents lieux de résidence.
CLUB DES JEUNES AGRICULTEURS
La saison des pluies étant arrivée, nous ne sommes pas en reste puisque nos candidats, pleins d'enthousiasme, se sont mis à cultiver et à planter des semis. Comme nous pouvons le constater, les semis poussent déjà bien. Les graines suivantes ont été plantées : patates douces, tomates, poivrons, haricots et arachides. Nous prions le Seigneur de la moisson de bénir le travail de nos mains et de nous accorder une récolte abondante.
SOLEMNITE DE CORPUS CHRISTI (FÊTE DE NOTRE ORDRE)
La célébration de la solennité a été un succès et nous avons déjeuné ensemble.
TROISIÈME ANNIVERSAIRE RELIGIEUX DE SR MARGARET ORBUNDE
Le trentième anniversaire de Sr Margaret Orbunde a été célébré le 23 juin 2025. Nous prions Dieu de lui accorder la grâce de la persévérance finale et la sagesse pour mener à bien l'apostolat qui lui a été confié, de la rendre fidèle à ses vœux, de lui accorder de bons désirs du cœur et surtout une bonne santé de l'esprit et du corps.
