February 11, 1674: foundation of the Monastery of St Julien, by the sisters of Dieppe and Vitré, called to the service of the patients of the Hôtel Dieu St Julien, in
Château-Gontier in Mayenne.
1789: Persecuted, the sisters all refuse to take an oath. They are imprisoned in the attic of the Ursulines. One of them, Sister Sainte Monique, accused unjustly, will be
transferred to Laval and guillotined. She is one of Laval's martyrs.
1833: the community Saint-Julien spreads, and founds in the city, the community Saint-Joseph, at the service of the elderly.
