Evènements à la Communauté de Gouarec, les dernières semaines
4 octobre, en la fête de St François d’Assise marquant la fin du mois de la Création, en ce jour qui était aussi la date anniversaire de l’arrivée des Sœurs dans le nouveau monastère en 1827 et la date anniversaire du décès de Mère Ste Mélanie, Fondatrice, nous avons vécu une belle célébration à la Communauté où nous avons pu louer le Seigneur.
Chaque Sœur avait été invitée dans les jours précédents à choisir une photo qui la rejoignait parmi celles proposées et d’y inscrire une parole de l’Ecriture, psaume, évangile… ou une courte prière inspirée par cette photo. Après avoir chanté le psaume de la création, et entendu la Parole de Dieu, chacune a pu, lire ce qu’elle avait écrit. Ce fut un beau moment de prière et de communion fraternelle.
Chaque année, nous aimons nous associer à la demande de l’Eglise, initiative du Pape François en vivant une journée de la Création.
14 octobre, nous sommes dans l’action de grâce avec Sr Pauline qui renouvelle ses vœux. Nous la confions à votre prière. Sr Pauline est actuellement en formation d’aide-soignante et elle apprécie beaucoup la formation.
18 octobre, 5 Sœurs ont participé avec la zone pastorale à la journée proposée pour vivre une Démarche Jubilaire. Nous étions une cinquantaine avec les enfants inscrits au catéchisme. Ce temps a débuté à la Maison St Yves à St Brieuc (ancien séminaire diocésain) où sont regroupés tous les services diocésains et l’Evêché. A notre arrivée, un café nous a été proposé puis en deux groupes, nous avons pu visiter la maison avec en particulier la magnifique chapelle, décorée art déco, avec de très bons commentaires adaptés aussi aux enfants. Puis au cloître et à la crypte, nous avons pu admirer les magnifiques peintures de Xavier de LANGLAIS.
Après le pique-nique, nous sommes partis pour la cathédrale de St Brieuc où une équipe du diocèse a mis en place un parcours jubilaire partant des fonds baptismaux, puis déambulant dans la cathédrale avec des textes, des chants pour nous permettre d’entrer dans la prière. La journée s’est terminée par l’Eucharistie célébrée dans la Cathédrale par notre curé.
Une belle journée fraternelle.
Le lendemain, en toute simplicité mais joyeusement, nous avons fêté les 103 ans de notre doyenne, Sœur Marguerite dont le dynamisme et la joie de vivre nous stimulent à poursuivre la route.

Events at the Gouarec Community in recent weeks
On 4 October, the feast of St Francis of Assisi marking the end of the month of Creation, which was also the anniversary of the Sisters' arrival at the new monastery in 1827 and the anniversary of the death of Mother St Melanie, Foundress, we had a beautiful celebration at the Community where we were able to praise the Lord.
In the days leading up to the celebration, each Sister was invited to choose a photo that spoke to her from among those on display and to write a passage from Scripture, a psalm, a Gospel reading, or a short prayer inspired by that photo. After singing the psalm of creation and hearing the Word of God, each sister read what she had written. It was a beautiful moment of prayer and fraternal communion.
Each year, we like to join in the Church's request, an initiative of Pope Francis, by observing a Day of Creation.
On 14 October, we gave thanks with Sr Pauline as she renewed her vows. We entrust her to your prayers. Sr Pauline is currently training to be a nursing assistant and is really enjoying the course.
On 18 October, five Sisters participated with the pastoral zone in a day dedicated to experiencing a Jubilee Journey. There were about fifty of us, including children enrolled in catechism classes. The day began at Maison St Yves in St Brieuc (the former diocesan seminary), where all the diocesan services and the Bishop's Palace are located. Upon our arrival, we were offered coffee, and then, divided into two groups, we were able to visit the house, in particular the magnificent Art Deco chapel, with excellent commentary that was also suitable for children. Then, in the cloister and crypt, we were able to admire the magnificent paintings by Xavier de Langlais
After the picnic, we left for St Brieuc Cathedral where a team from the diocese had set up a jubilee tour starting at the baptismal font, then wandering through the cathedral with texts and songs to help us enter into prayer. The day ended with the Eucharist celebrated in the cathedral by our parish priest. It was a beautiful day of fellowship.
The next day, in a simple but joyful manner, we celebrated the 103rd birthday of our eldest member, Sister Marguerite, whose energy and zest for life inspire us to continue on our journey.
